Last November (2015),at the request of the minister, Medi-Aid visited a hospital near Kataragama to investigate the possibilities for supplying aids. The responsible doctor there gave us a tour of the various buildings. Some have already been refurbished with donations, but the main building (see below) is in poor condition. The monkeys have free rein through the holes in the roof and regularly come and play inside. It has been agreed with the person in charge that the building must first be significantly improved before we can offer help. As long as monkeys can get in, the resources will take damage. On our next visit we will look at the state of affairs and we can decide whether Medi-Aid can start sending aids. To be continued...
